Let's begin with one word: FRAGRANCE. Just back from Italia, I will posit that this deep-garnet siren is just about the essence of that famed land on ones nostrils. My olfactory is pleased, greets this cuvee: *ciao*. We get right to business, where smelling is concerned: how very red tea of you, Amore. How very cinar-esque you smell today. Is that chanterelle on your breath, cracked black pepper in your hair, gravel crunching warmly under your feet? Thought so, certo. Moving right along, we address that thing essential to all dancers, composers and clothiers: STRUCTURE. Yours is on the delicious knife-edge of acidic to too-acidic, tannic to too-tannic, in both cases falling on the right side of the blade. Your alcohol level is just warm enough, not hot, and your finish is somehow cool and lingering. You are a cool cat, balanced and self assured. But wait: there's more, because we didn't talk abt your other PERFUMES leaping from the glass and traveling lovingly to my olfactory: brown spice, astronaut strawberry, cranberry, purple flower. DOLCE & GABBANA/ we have, at last, your newest fragrance: La Dolce Susumaniello. Carry on! 🇮🇹 — 11 years ago
Signed by my favorite Taurasi maker, Antonio. The older his Taurasi gets, the more amazing they become and this 2002 was mind blowing. I savored every sip along with his charming company. Look out ladies, he is well aged like his amazing wines but he is a true charmer. Ciao Antonio mi amici. — 11 years ago

A Saturday evening with a Super Tuscan: a beautiful thing. Notes: intense ruby color, strong aromas of cedar & spice, Merlot frames the delicacy of the Sangiovese, extraordinary tannins. Match boldness with steak or flavorful artisan cheese for full culinary experience. Vin che salti, pan che canti, formaggio che pianga... May the wine jump, the bread sing and the cheese weep. Ciao. — 13 years ago
Not very dry. I really enjoyed this red blend. Best one I've had. — 10 years ago
Reminiscent of Beaujolais' Gamay, this southern part of Tuscany's Ampeleia is producing some fine red wine! Mine tonight, after 30 minutes swim and spin in the decanter's pool of naked open space and air shows first to the nose wet rocks, slate and sandstone freshly accenting menthol and anise then strictly earthen dirt and minerals and a hint of the berries. First kiss is lightly but intriguingly nasty, wet and dripping red fruit which immediately coats and clings but most interestingly reaches back for the wet rocks overlooking the Med, then re-engages just in time to leave hints of her red and blue berry essence complimenting the blackened octopus in a mash of white beans and spices laced with a hint of Tabasco offered up by Chapel Hill's Il Palio located off Franklin Street (checkout both) Ciao🕶 — 10 years ago
Ilaria says it all (see below), but I will chime in just to clear some air. Zin came from Croatia to us, then back to Italy where it has this tag. I find it a bit tight compared to our zins, but decant it and it comes back home.! Ciao! — 11 years ago
Awesome find on a primarily Italian list! @Pax Mahle not as good as our comp tasting at Cowboy Ciao though! — 11 years ago
One of the great wine making families and regions of Italy. Visiting their estate winery in Campania during the annual Cantine Aperte was one of my greatest memories from my 4 years in Italy. Welcoming, enthusiatic, treating us all like familia. Their Taurasi, like some of their art on display, was a pleasure to experience. Ciao Daniella mi amore! — 11 years ago
Amazing vino with amazing people. Ciao!!! — 12 years ago
Ciao! I am the kind of great Italian red that is served at great American steak houses, costing huge amounts of dollars! — 12 years ago
Great wine. Have at ciao Bella all the time. — 13 years ago
Love, love, love! Of course, I'm loving almost all wine from Oenopole that I have tried thus far. Ciao Sicilia!!! A beautiful fresh red, a blend of 60% Nero d’Avola and 40% Frappato... made in cement and aged for at least 18 months. Beautiful ruby-red in colour... floral notes, cherry, spices and smoke. Mouth-watering, smooth tannins. 👌🏼 — 10 years ago
Delicious, small produced blend. Ciao Stefano! La Pallazetta del Vescovo, Todi May 8 — 10 years ago
