Young St. Emilion blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Red berries, plum and smoky notes. Medium to full bodied, chrisp acidity and some heat from alcohol. Still a little bit off, needs year or two to settle down. Don’t know can I wait so long for this very decent wine with excelent value. — 7 years ago

Wonderful. Deep color with raspberry notes. — 9 years ago
Light bodied, nose of red cherries and raspberries. Good minerality. Lingering, satisfying finish. An elegant, smooth pinot. — 9 years ago

Strolled into Trader Joe’s; the shelf was stocked with this. Couldn’t believe it. Picked up another half case. This is a phenomenal bordeaux and one of the best QPRs around. Haven’t tasted in a year and it’s just as memorable. Lots of great mushroom and sweaty gym socks with a dusty, tannic finish. Perfect example of a phenomenal wine at sub-$20 that drinks at 3-4x the price. — 7 years ago
Very nice floral and fruity bouquet. Not as dry as I would’ve hoped but enjoyed thoroughly and will buy again. — 8 years ago
Asador St Emillion lovely soft tannins..... — 9 years ago
Tried côte à côte with the Gruaud Larose 375ml, this was a little one dimensional, primary fruit, showing more oak, think it needs another 5 years. — 10 years ago
Very enjoyable with lunch during En Primeur week at Gruaud Larose. Great lemon. — 10 years ago
Fantastic Bordeaux blend. My favorite Kiwi wine and truly a world class wine. The 2009 is nearing peak but has many years of enjoyment left — 12 years ago
Cherry aroma, lovely balanced and smooth mouth feel, spicy undertones and dry finish. Love this. — 12 years ago

Dark, cassis. Smooth. Inner sweetness. — 7 years ago
Chateau located in St. Julien region of France with famous neighbors as Cheateau Gruaud-Larose, Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou & Chateau Beychevelle. The name means "beautiful pebbles". Deep Ruby with aromas of sweet ripe berry fruits & floral notes. Palate shows flavors of blueberry, blackberry and sweet currants. Full ripe tannins, elegant structure, lingering, ending with earthy herbal character. Nice! — 7 years ago
Good. Rich, dark cherry but balanced. Bought at Mitsukoshi for ¥5,000. — 7 years ago

Bordeaux wine dinner; 6/18/15: Pichon Lalande 1990 - Lighter color than others, I think passing its prime. A little dry on the finish but perfectly nice still. Gruaud Larose 1989 - Very classic nose and palate of cedar and pine notes. Most silky palate of the bunch. Two at the table thought it was wine of the night. Not as much to my taste but very much classy Gruaud. Cos 1986 - Funky barnyard nose. Deep palate with still strong tannin, but plenty of fruit coming through. Liked it but there was some brett there that to me, hurt. Lynch Bages 1985 - For me, the wine of the night, largely due to the truly stunning nose. A tad dry on the palate but still long finish of dark fruit. — 11 years ago
