D9. Enjoyed at Monsieur Paul at the French showcase of Epcot. Food was fantastic and this wine hit it out of the park. Called the night before and paid for the bottle using a little Disney magic. It was open for a few hours last night, recorked, and opened upon arrival. Whoa Daddy. Love Nuits St Georges when it's firing on all cylinders. The nose is dirty raspberry, black cherry, black tea, mint, peppery, and you could almost envision the soil that gave life to these grapes. The entry has all of these things, with the middle gaining some dates and tobacco. Hint of herb. Finishes with a lot of youthful tannin despite being extremely expressive for what this one is. I don't think this bottle was incredibly expensive, but it really killed tonight. Drink or hold for a decade. — 6 years ago
Dark wild berries, red currant, violets, cedar, dusty leather, tobacco leaf, bell pepper, lots of gravel, river rocks, hint of manure. Highly aromatic, med-full body, med + acidity, powdery tannins. Quite a classic and regal Chinon with spot-on aromatics and highly mineral-driven texture, giving the sensation of picking wild berries covered in dust and rock particles. Nice balance of vegetal/herbal and the earth/mineral components. 100% organically farmed 50-year old vines from one of the great parcels on the left bank. Very affordable to boot. — 7 years ago

2010 Erba Cabernet Sauvignon is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon,7.5% Merlot,3.5% Cab Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, crafted by Denis Malbec - bless his soul - also known for Blankiet, owned by Paul Erba, all sourced from their mountain side vineyards ranging from 1100-1500 ft, on the peak next to Atlas Peak. 2010-2012 was Denis Malbec, and 2012-present is now Russell Bevan.
Beautiful wine for the value, and a bit of a sleeper! 2010 is still tight and young, and will attest time - will age like the best of mountain style wines.
Aromas of black plum skins, gravel dust, mashed blueberries and lavender, pencil box, espresso, black pepper, and leather. The pallet is dark, clean, and focused like St. Julien, but more fruit forward, exhibiting notes of casis, delicious red apple skins, dried cherries, bell pepper, clove, nutmeg, olive, smoked herbs, vanilla, and a bit of grippy tannin to the finish. For $90, this stuff is excellent. Can't wait to try the 2012 made by Russell Bevan! Paul Erba told me that he will be producing a single vineyard wine from Paul Erba's property next year as well! Glad to have this in my cellar. — 7 years ago

Picked this up from the St. Paul Greek Festival 2017. Nose of licorice and blackberries with flavors of blueberry, pepper, vanilla. A mellow, but highly enjoyable Syrah. My only regret was not getting a few more bottles!! — 8 years ago

Pale gold in color- this is 100% Marsanne and not a blend. Aromas are fresh bread dough, chamomile and white peach. This has a slightly oily texture and is very well balanced. — 5 years ago
