The second audible of the night, John opened the Fourrier as an end-cap to our exploration of Burgundy. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, every producer of Pinot Noir in the New World seems to be chasing the great wines of Gevrey-Chambertin. This is archetypal. Opulent red and black fruits. Obvious finesse. I just wish I found them more exciting. One of those, “it’s not you, it’s me” situations where the wine is without fault but I just can’t seem to fall in love with it. — 7 years ago
Excellent grapefruit and citrus, very classic Marlborough Sauv Blanc. Really hard not to enjoy this. Acidity and alcohol balance are seamless. — 8 years ago

2012. Lovely people behind this lovely wine — 11 years ago
Solid little Wednesday afternoon Brunello pregame before dinner. I would love to taste this in ten years, but easily crushing it now and chasing with duck salami and aged pecorino. — 11 years ago
Always seemed to be chasing this wine. Opened up a little over a couple hours. Will have to try and couple three five more times. — 13 years ago

Smooth mouthfeel, very pleasant wine. Great for chasing waterfalls. — 8 years ago
Fuck. Just when you think you're over chasing that magical Burgundy moment, you get sucked back in. Beautiful balance of warm vintage fruit and tertiary development, exceptional with duck. The kid will probably get a scholarship for college, right? — 9 years ago
Med plus intense aromas of Perfume, elegant cheery and rosepedal. Med body, med plus acid, balanced and smooth, structure and black fruit flavor comes together, finish with bitter structure and med plus tannins. Complex but savory nebbiolo that has potential to pair with bunch of different foods-tajarin ragu, fiorentina steak, rabbits.... bit stiff and young. Need 3 to 5 yrs to age. — 10 years ago
Translates to: Chasing Away The Melancholy. Fig, Cigar, Cherry. Full-bodied Bordeaux blend of 73% Cab, 20% Merlot, & % Petit Verdot. — 10 years ago
Dessert tonight. Was chasing what I had a few weeks ago at our Realm tasting with Juan. This was a step behind the last time but still awesome. Deep dark and multi dimensional. The 12 is even better but this is oh so good. For my palette better than the to kalon and Dr Crane. — 11 years ago
Where did the day go? Chasing away the humidity w/a #LongIsland bubbly. Rocking traditional method #PinotBlanc ! — 12 years ago
Chasing flavor. — 12 years ago
Tasted tonight with miso-tamari marinated steak dinner and side of sautéed onions and mushrooms, overlooking NYC sky line.
yummy, smooth ‘n easy. Take a sip, breathe in, and realize there’s peppercorn character chasing the fruit. Enough acidity to keep everything in balance. — 7 years ago
This is a super hard Rioja to get your hands on (think Rocking Horse 💩) & is Mugas top wine only produced in top vintages so I was quite happy to find this & some 2015 as only around 5,600 bottles 😮 it’s not cheap at £120-£155 but I’ve been chasing for ages! Having had the amazing Prado Enea & Torre Muga in 09 I couldn’t wait 😊 The verdict? It’s a monster 😈 but will benefit 5-10 years more age 😉

Released in 2013. This is still so young and forward, I can barely understand. Sure, I suppose there was development here, but I keep chasing these wines backwards in time, and they never seem to reach that place that my vinous instincts suggest they're headed. I mean, this was really tasty - maybe my expectations are the problem... — 9 years ago

But seriously - this is damn good. I may have let up on chasing the skin contact dragons, this one is a gem. — 10 years ago

In my surf publishing days, we did an issue of Bodyboarding Magazine with a main line for the cover story of "Chasing Perfect". I didn't much like the phrasing, in regards to a group of shredders traversing the Mentawai Islands, but our publisher was all about it and it worked out well in the end. Drinking this tonight, the phrase came to mind out of nowhere, probably because Font du Loup captured it in 2012. — 11 years ago
Sweet notes
Well melded tannins, red fruit and black fruit
Bit of spice
Third Meritage wine in the Hanukkah celebration.
Might have commanded an even better score but it was chasing the Dominus and the Les Pavots
Glad I own two more

I'm crushing hard on Nebbiolo now, and/but, in true Nebbiolo fashion, I'm still chasing something elusive I haven't yet found. That said: this was delicious, and surprisingly fresh. — 12 years ago
Fresh apple and pear fruit melon fruit fresh ANC clean finish lemon lime citrus leaves the tongue salivating for food notes of zesty fruit . Started by a group from Wisconsin chasing their dream to make wines. They made their first wines at Whitman cellars. Sconi block planted in 2007. where they will build their new winery. Two weeks ahead this year warm summer 2013 looks to be very good so far everything planted on their own roots continental climate here because of the gorge they don't get too cold 25 below zero would kill the roots. If they had to graft everything would it be possible to make great wines here. The largest wind farm in North America most of the power sold to California. Two sisters and their husbands in business together for 10 years. 1% RS in this wine 2011 very cold year so was 2010.$15 retail. Western wine merchants is distributor in sfl — 13 years ago

Excellent showing for this natural wine that’s still youthful and in great shape. Crushed berries and licorice. Brett and VA are in check, at least in this bottle. A dragon worth chasing — 7 years ago
