Really nice opening red at a beautiful wine dinner with Cyril Chappellet — 10 years ago
Not the best vintage, but this is classic Napa Cabernet. A classic nose, the palate is great, mid-afternoon is amazing and then things get awkward on the finish with dry brittle tannins. Still a good effort though. The Togni style is rooted in the old world as the senior Philip is a Brit. His daughter Lisa now makes the wines but they are of the same family tree for sure. Philip remarkably made the Chappellet wines in the early years and set a reputation there of superb quality and classicism. Looking for a top Napa Cabernet? Togni is one of the best and well priced. They drink well young, but superbly with time. #puritydefined — 11 years ago

South facing side of Pritchard hill at $125.00
Clone 7 & 337
Bought this to compare to Tor Melason which is still incoming.
I know Bryant & Chappellet need at least 10 years if not longer to open up, this isn’t that tight but I would like to try an older vintage to see the difference. — 7 years ago
I have been waiting to try this for a while, since I missed the 2013. So once 2014 came out, I jumped on it and am glad I did.
Another Meritage that is absolutely killing it.
I often wonder how wines are named and with this one, I suspect there were multiple reasons. First, most naturally, it's an ode to the 3 acre site this comes from. But, my own impression is that the nose is particularly savory with some overt wet rock notes. Given that this is a Bordeaux blend, I suspect the Cab franc is low here based on the nose alone.
On the palate, there are violets, cassis and well integrated oak that gives way to a sense of Graham Cracker. Amazing! Great #QPR
For under $30, it's this cuvée and the Chappellet mountain cuvée for sub 30 WOTY.

2010 Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon from Chappellet. Dark and brooding, deep notes of black fruits, candied cherries, roasted coffee. Well structured with chewy tannins and balanced acidity. — 11 years ago
Lovely Sonoma Pinot! Not too jammy at all, balanced well in fact. — 11 years ago
Solid Zin. Not as spicy as many but excellent. Was fortunate to do a zoom wine tasting with chappellet. So fun. — 5 years ago
Lucious , classic chard. — 8 years ago
In contrast to the Chappellet this was rocking although 5 years younger and both from Pritchard Hill. Deep dark fruits, chocolate, black cherry and some oak but very well integrated. I've never opened a Continuum that doesn't kick ass. Young but no reason to wait. — 9 years ago
