Really love this cuvee — 11 years ago
The first release of this cuvee for Vineyard 7&8. A complex Cabernet from Spring Mountain fruit blended with some fruit from Oakville. Drinking very well now and will only get better with more cellaring.

Tonight's wine is from Washington State the 2013 Lady Hill Cuvee Etienne Lucier Bordeaux Blend 39% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Petit Verdot a classic Right Bank Blend.
Upon opening there are aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, licorice, black pepper, roasted pepper, graphite, and wet gravel.
There is a sleek smooth velvety texture to this wine that fits your tongue like a glove. Beautiful fruit of plum, blackberry, and cherry. There is herbal notes, bell pepper, and a chocolaty backend.
A totaly well blended structure with medium acidity and a fine medium + tannins that fill your mouth with deliciousness.

Great opportunity to try some wines from Lauren Ashton Cellars prior to release. The heavy hitter for this tasting is the Cuvee Mirabelle. Deep and dark ruby red with a purplish hue. A little funky on the nose with some gamey/meaty notes, (we love the funk). Some smokey undertones as well as minuscule greenery and hint of nutmeg. Moderate tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Lovely savory attack that morphs into a few rustic notes as well as dark cocoa and caramel. Slightly dry in the long finish. Absolutely gorgeous GSM blend from Washington State. Highly recommended and a must try from Lauren Ashton. Drink till 2027. — 10 years ago

Ripe marionberries, violets, earth. Med + acid, can taste a bit of alcohol on the finish. Better in 1-2 yrs. — 10 years ago
