Thomas Pico is one of my favorite Chablis producers. Chalk, oyster shell, under ripe green apple. Acid High. Delicious. — 3 years ago

It’s a 375ml double dip night.
There was a time in my life, I almost never opened Champagne. Now, can’t seem to get enough.
The Ruinart Rosé has the; deeper, darker, richer fruits over the BSR but, while the chalk, sea fossils, minerals are very good, it just not as a impressive as the BSR.

2016. Nice acid. Lemon. Chalk. Steely Chardonnay. Will definitely seek out again. — 7 years ago
Bought on release, $89.95, it’s gorgeous—but so tight at 21 years of age—surprisingly so. Fruit takes a back seat to acidity and structure as well as chalk and minerality. I really like this wine and it will live decades but tonight I’m happily sacrificing a little tooth enamel. — 5 months ago
Another beautiful champagne from the Launois family. A pale old gold color with nice perlage and intensity. Freshly baked bread and green apple aromas for days. Melons and white peaches with herbs for good measure. There’s an innate sense of lemon zest in the air that’s just magnificent.
Pure Grand Cru Chardonnay from Mesnil-sur-Oger. Four years of aging on lees gives this a resplendent and stately nature. Nice acidity and a superb mouthfeel, especially on the second day. Apples and chalk on the palate alongside vibrant citrus fruits. I struggle to think of a better value in Champagne than this. Stock up. — 9 months ago
222/5/4 with sushi. L02B02. Lemon, honey, brioche, chalk - everything is here, with a bit more depth and richness than I remember it having 5-10 years ago. For me, this is THE classicist, brut blanc de blancs standard cuvée. It’s so great to have a wine like this reasonably available and reasonably priced. — 3 years ago

Continuing quest to taste as many 22’s as possible.
Beautiful honeysuckle notes, Meyer lemon and spring flowers on the nose.
The palate show a good presence of Meyer lemon right at the top. Butterscotch notes, honeysuckle-honey comb, apricots, yellow peach, ripe, syrupy pineapple, cream, slivered almonds, saline, flinty notes, limestone marl, toast, some soft white spices, lots of moist to mushy chalk, yellow & spring flowers, excellent, round acidity and a well made, elegant, round, lush, finish that lasts 90 seconds landing on spice & minerals.
This will merit another point of two with appropriate age but still hard to justify $240 a bottle. The strong lemon presence needs time to calm. — 6 months ago
The NV Brut 7 Crus is a very pretty, entry-level wine in this range. Bright, mineral and intensely vibrant, the 7 Crus is all energy. All the elements are so well proportioned. A blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, this captures all the house signatures with tons of energy and better overall balance than in some previous editions. White flowers, chalk and citrus linger. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: June, 2023. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023)

This is wonderful - a nose of fresh ripe sweet red strawberry, morphs into some raspberry. Acid builds perfectly into a balance of fruit and acid with the prevailing strawberry note at the center. Finishes also fruity with just a tinge of green fruit but just a hint, and a I mean a hint, of chalk. This balances the finish beautifully. Really world class rose. — 6 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
A Fav! Medium lemon color with aromas of stone fruits, spice, floral, cedar, biscuits and citrus. On the palate flavors of apple, pear & ripe apricot with citrus zest, honeysuckle and nutty toasty oak notes, rich with creamy tones. Smooth, long finish, well balanced with acidity, ending with fruit and integrated creamy oak. Nice! — 5 months ago
