Color : Red
Wine estate : Château Marbuzet
Designation : Saint-Estèphe
Name : Saint-Estèphe

Vivino : 4/5
Note : A wine that is fun and gives us time to enjoy the time between friends and family. A dark garnet color, a nose of plum jam. Complex and long tannins with a final on tobacco.

— 4 years ago
Affordable and quaffable Pinot + Gamay blend. I expected to see "passe-tout-grains" on the label to indicate the cuvée, but there's no mention of the blend that I could find. Pinot Noir and Gamay are co-fermented, and the typical Jolly Rancher carbonic maceration notes are prominent, but with a lighter weight and some savory and sour-cherry overtones from the Pinot. Great every-day food-friendly wine with low ABV. If you don’t like Beaujolais for some reason, you can skip this one. Total Wine/Alfio Moriconi. — 6 years ago
Robe Noire. — 7 years ago
Top ! — 8 years ago
Passe partout 18$ — 8 years ago
— 5 years ago
— 5 years ago
Robe noire
Nez épicé et de fruit noir olive
Bouche suave ample avec un fruit explosif
Fiable epicee
Decanted ~5hrs.
Deep purple color with a nice ruby edge.
Nose is reminiscent of Passe-Tout-Grains whereas the Gamay adds a little of acidity to the mix. Very bright/aromatic fresh cherry, touch of alcohol (13% ABV), over-ripe strawberry and mashed green herbs.
Palate has tannic red cherry fruit, leather, flat cherry cola, herbal-mineral traits and medium finish.
This wine is from Moselle in the Lorraine region of France, tight against Germany in the northeast corner of the Country. Directly parallel and 175km drive West from Baden, Germany, whereas I believe, there are also a few winemakers doing extraordinary things with Pinot Noir, take notice. Only a total of 0.006 hectares on this plot, a very nice effort here.
Paired with duck confit, shredded atop green lentils with just a splash of cider vinegar to brighten, all great. — 6 years ago

Objectivement c’est trop jeune — 8 years ago

Not a great single varietal Cab Franc fan but this one from the Bourgueil region in the Loire Valley was fantastic. So much body and depth. Nice dark earthy notes, fresh pepper and it actually had a finish!! And it had just a slight hint of that barnyard under note that I love! Than again, hey, like every self respecting Dutchman, I grew up on a dairy farm 😎 — 4 years ago
