A nice way to toast my daughter’s 33rd Birthday! Blend of Chardonnay (42%), Pinot Noir (39%) and Meunier (18%). Straw gold color. Ripe apple hits both the nose and palate immediately with additional notes of pie and bread dough, lemon, apricot, white flowers and fresh herbs. Distinct chalky/nutty note on the finish. Rich and full bodied. Acidity was a bit lighter than expected. Quite dry but extremely fruit forward. A bit lacking in effervescence and mousse but still quite enjoyable. Holding back a bit and has lost that tail-wagging exuberance along with some of the supple qualities of youth. Medium light lemon yellow colour . This is quite reserved and closed , quite a difference from the incorrect Pucelles . Quite mineral , chalky and stony , touch of struck match , white flowers , some lemon pith , focused and detailed , with the freshness the Pucelles lacked. On the palate this is denser and richer than the nose suggests with lemon peel , touch of white peach , chalky and mineral , excellent extract and good freshness . Quite long rich and intense but still really well balanced finish . This needs more time , I would leave this another 3-5 years and will last well a further 10 years . — 3 months ago
