Deep dark garnet color. Nice dark cherry round fruit and depth here. Enough complexity with wood and earth. What a nice finish with firm long tannins that melt into a clean finish. Best merlot dominant wine I’ve had in a while. Had it with a NY strip at Capital Grille. — 6 years ago

First red on night four at Chops Grille aboard the Harmony of the Seas. Deep purplish red. Rich nose with sweet cinnamon, vanilla, blackberries, cassis, dark gravel and dark cocoa. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Lush palate with blue and black fruits as well as baking spices, purple flowers and a bit of minerals. Long and lingering finish with a touch of heat. Could use a short decant next time. Drink till 2033. — 7 years ago
It's that time of year again! Generous Pour at The Capital Grille. (9) wines, all 90+ points, all you can enjoy, for $28. The Mt Brave, Mt Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon is a great match for their bone-in filet mignon. Dark, rich, gentle structure and deep fruits. Nice finish that made it the favorite of the night. — 8 years ago
La Chapelle hits it out of the ballpark! Here is a Mâcon chard at under $20 that should be purchased by the case. A delicious hint of tropical fruits and no hint of oak on the palate. Some oak and pain grille aromas, but the balance here is spot on. This is a great find by Peter Weygandt. — 8 years ago
Really trying to get an understanding of the Lagrein grape while in its home region of Italy. This is a nice one, but quite different in style than the Nusserhof we had the other night. Deep dark violet in the glass. After an hour of air, quite nice aromatically, with deep dark fruits coming through and the initial oak note blowing off. Full bodied, with a fair bit of young tannin - which made it a great pairing for simple meats from a rustic wood grille. Nice long finish with good acid. — 5 years ago
Yummy! Enjoyed with Naso at capital grille before seeing the Philly pops! — 6 years ago

Jaune clair.
Un blanc sans sulfite
Nez sur le grille et noisette fraîche
Bouche ample généreuse avec un equilibre parfait grace a l acidite
Finale assez courte épicée sans aucune oxydation

Pear, stone, oak, more spring than autumn. A breezy spring day with a few dry leaves still blowing down the walkway. Buds on the branches. Glad I'm wearing a sweater. Here comes the sun. Another sip... take a deep clean breath. The grille comes out of the shed for that lovely white fleshed fish with lemon and olive oil. Crusty bread. Asparagus. Jazz or just the birds? Me humming? — 8 years ago

First night of our Celebrity Solstice cruise from Auckland, New Zealand to Sydney, Australia. Ate in the Tuscan Grille, a pay extra dining experience. The wine was much better than the food. — 6 years ago
Houston’s very own Del Frisco’s Grille is sadly shutting down. So, as it was with their fine steakhouse concept ‘Sullivan’s’ when it closed down, they’re doing a 50% off promotion for ALL alcohol. Needless to say...we have a few dinners lined up with our Supper Club and other friends before they shutter their doors for good on 9/16.
This is about as good as New World entry-level Chardonnay gets. — 7 years ago
