My wife calls it "breakfast wine." Stephen Clarke liked it. It's complex. — 8 years ago
A little harder because it was with food (paired great with the grilled chicken, Cesar salad, and artichoke) and chocolate (another good pairing). Oaky on the nose and palate, but in a good way. Cherry. — 8 years ago
Welcome to Dr Todd's Wine Bar once again. Tonight we are tasting Elizabeth and Clarke Swanson's 2002 Alexis from Oakville Estates in Napa Valley. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. The cork has a 3mm ring that is well defined. The legs are 4 seconds. The boquet is that of ripe plums. the initial palate is blackberry currant. There is no tanic boquet or taste. The finish is minimally dry, spicy and tantelizing tonthe roof of the mouth. The middle edges of the toungue are tingling. This is very very very good wine!!! I will try and contact the wine makers and order a case of this beautiful wine! Its most likely not available... — 9 years ago
I'm quite satisfied with this wine. The smooth combination of fresh fruit flavorers, enhanced by seasoned plums and a hint of passion fruit, help to create a wine that can be enjoyed at many different types of social gatherings. All in all I am suitably impressed with this Shiraz. — 9 years ago

As usually happens in life we sometimes have great surprises... this guy is a prime example of that..an increadable value coming out of the great down under. Dark plum acetone and spice to the nose. Slightly sweet plum dark fruit followed by licorice spice pepper to the palate. Nice mouthfeel but a bit watery on the back end. Velvety tannins and a med plus finish. A very enjoyable experience at an amazing value. — 6 years ago
