I decided to taste this sample to celebrate the end of March wine club month at my day job and it did not disappoint. What I love about Alsatian wines are the brilliant acidity and minerality, which are showcased in this wine. Citrus and tree fruits permeate the senses. This riesling is clean, crisp, and refined. It is approachable now, yet age worthy, too. Suggested pairings include shellfish, but I paired this with Asian food and it worked splendidly. Riesling goes with everything, yes? Tuoksussa pursuaa petroli ja eksoottiset hedelmät. Suutuntuma on leveä ja hedelmäisen makea. Happorakenne on tyylikäs ja maltillinen kantaen makua pitkään. — 9 years ago
A tiny spicy. I like it, my wife doesn't like the spice. Fruity, which I also like — 9 years ago

I've said it time and time again: Gewürztraminer and Kung Pao Chicken is one of the best wine and food pairings ever. The 2013 Cave de Turckheim Gewürztraminer ($28 SRP) possesses heady, floral and citrus aromas; a soft, textured mouthfeel; rich, ripe tropical and stone fruit flavors and a near-perfect integration of sweetness and acidity. Combined with the warm, spicy brown Kung Pao sauce, it's euphoric on the palate. (sample) — 11 years ago

Last night was the Confrerie St. Etienne Spring dinner. It was my first time attending. This is a chapter of the original group out of Alsace, France, and is the only chapter here in the US...just happens to be in my neck of the woods! Great introduction to Alsace wines.
Kind of surprised at the reviews here for this wine. Maybe people rated the wrong one? This grand cru Riesling was paired with a Chilean sea bass and both were excellent. Not a lot of petrol on the nose, but it checked off most Riesling notes of honeycomb, pear and had that lovely sweet and quick finish on the palate. — 9 years ago
