They only made 16 bottles of the double mag. A rep from the domaine was at the dinner and asked questions about how the wine was obtained! $800 bottle I have never tasted a burg this good - killed new world pinots, hands down.

A night of excess was brought to a funny conclusion with this. We tried to cool it rapidly in the freezer. Alas, our goldfish-like brains forgot the wine in the freezer 🙄

On the muted nose, there was pain grille and butterscotch. On the palette, we were greeted by soft ice crystals- kind of like a slushy. The wine had a high-pitched, tense mid palette, finishing with shortbread. A wonderful capstone on a great evening.

Caparone is my favorite PR producer. I love that they have raised prices less than a handful of times since they started. Capstone they are a no nonsense wine producer. This Nebbiolo has a very light brick color almost like a rose. But it is an acidic Nebbiolo with loads of tannins. Love this american Nebbiolo. This is the kind you buy in cases and drink with everything from roasted boar to a midnight puttanesca. — 11 years ago
