Excellent well made Sangiovese. Dark fruit and a hint of leather on the nose. Pleasant fruit with a hint of aged fruit on the palate. Nice mouth drying high tannins and typical high acidity. A hint of delicious sour sweetness that reminds me of Chateau Musar. Blend: 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot. 13% abv — 10 years ago

Exceptionally rich yet nervy, Lohsa 2013 Morellino di Scansano is certainly cut along the local Sangiovese lines of this DOCG but this is cut of a finer woolen and fragrant cloth true to the Poliziano house whose handsome strength comes through in savory spiced cherries and al dente tannins. A wine to serve with wild boar or crispy duck. — 10 years ago
