Mellow but full bodied, very dry, black tea, raisins, ink, cranberry, nice mouth-drying tannins. From Shawn's. — 10 years ago

2008. Deep, deep, so much more than a sforzato. Had it open a week and it kept drinking. "The dream" indeed. — 11 years ago

Us again on this wine. So glad we guessed right that this would be a winner and squirreled some away. It's got this amazing rote grütze flavor with beautiful age on the fruit, and just enough acid to let you know it's going to go the distance. If you can find this, get it. — 9 years ago
Light red. Kind of amazing with veal Libretti. — 9 years ago
Decent fruit, pleasantly earthy with all those grandfatherly notes. Back vintage Gattinara so cozy right now. 1967 vintage, enjoyed at Maialino last week — 10 years ago
Mellovinet! Bärig doft men en hint av risbastu. Mjukt och välbalanserat. Prisvärt! — 11 years ago
2007, Anzivino, Gattinara Nebbiolo. Second bottle and is ageing well. Great with grilled ribeye. Black fruit, leather, forest floor; smooth and complex. — 11 years ago

Medium body rich Nebbiolo based red blend from alto Piemonte. Earthy with red and dark berry notes. Medium tannins and lingering finish. Very nice wine. — 9 years ago
Cork pulled cleanly; still in excellent condition. Took my time enjoying the rose petal, soil and truffle aromas and the dried sour cherry, earth, mushroom, and briney flavors, nicely complemented by a beautiful mushroom risotto courtesy of @Steven Perlman. — 9 years ago
Soft ripe fruits and tobacco on the nose. Amber red in colour. Soft tanins, mild pear, and tobacco notes. Finishes on notes of smoke. My dining companion compared it to the wine he would drink for the rest of his life. Stellar representation of quality Italian wines — 10 years ago

I love this wine. Just that yummy Nebbiolo fruit. It has that hint of sweet wood and great juiciness. Lovely rich fruit. It's so good. Really coats the palate. Bought from fass selections. — 8 years ago
