Cabernet Sauvignon/Grenache 50/50 blend. 16 yrs out -- still delicious red fruit. Grenache is strong with Cab tannins still providing good structure. Excellent to drink now but still has 10 yrs left I think. — 9 years ago

Excellent red from northern Greece, this wine is unlike any I’ve had before. Complex layers of blue and black fruits, nice minerality, and an expansive palate. Has hints of eucalyptus that reminds me of Heitz Martha’s Vineyard. Without question the best red wine from Greece that I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a restaurant in Athens, do not miss Scala Vinoteca. The food is excellent, the wine list not long but very good, and the service is fantastic! — 7 years ago

Wine #2 In Italy. We are in Venice and this is the second Valpo Ripasso (last night I didn't have a workable phone). Light to Medium bodied. Aromatic. These wines have both paired really nicely with branzino. Still jet-lagged, with be here for 16 days. Challenging with kids; thus wine will be a necessity.

I'm open to suggestions @Bill Bender @Shay Aldriedge and others. We will hit Tuscany and considering a swing up to Barolo at al.
