Second time with this bottling and an equally stellar experience. This producer works magic with her rosados. Flat out some of the best I’ve ever had. Deep ruby red, with strawberry fruit and a crushed candy nose. Mouth is tart, salty, taffy textured, leesy, with an umami wave. All the savory components integrate seemlessly with the fruit. Super length. What a great wine. — 5 years ago
Curious, so I decided to open up one of these while waiting for someone to help me consume the other half.... This wine is youthful, and for that reason is a bit out of balance from the previous wine I remembered and scored quite a bit higher than this one. This wine is a 93 right now, with potential for a 96-97 IMO. The fruit in front is massive. Black cherry, black licorice, but as @Shay A was mentioning there is a red fruity kind of touch to this one and I completely agree. The middle is a little bit muted vs. the previous vintage. The finish is quite peppery, toasted oak. Tons of potential on this full bodied Moon Mountain monster. Hold for the next 10 years. — 7 years ago

Nicely balanced with both tangy brightness and crisp saline finish. Lots of ripe citrus and a little round peachiness on the mid palate. — 6 years ago

Deep ruby. Black cherry, sweet spices hints. Rich, long lenght. — 7 years ago
Blueberry and slate on the nose. Nice long and thick legs. Fruitcake upfront, with a pineapple note in the mid palate. Finishes with some heat and a beautiful tingling sensation on the tongue. Great first class of wine in Colombia! — 8 years ago
Grenache Blanc is my favorite white varietal and the boys at Waylan do it right!!! This vintage is like a Kelsea Ballerini song, light and happy with some a little bit of edge. — 5 years ago
No notes but lively acid, drinking very open, dark cherry. Like a good bojo cru in terms of fruit vibrancy but with mencia funk under the hood. A wine for drinking. — 6 years ago
Pre Super Bowl beverage.....one of the beamst Sav Blancs ever — 6 years ago
Solid profile. Slight earthy almost peppered. Great with red meat — 7 years ago
This past Saturday I attended a get together with close friends. We opened the 2014 Saarloos & Sons Family Tree Rhone Blend. 55% Grenache, 27% Mourvedre and 18% Syrah. This was the hit of the evening that turned heads and got people talking.
The nose was light with cherry, raspberry, plum, cinnamon, black pepper, anise, roses and an earthy gravel.
On the palate was beautiful fruit of black cherry, blackberry, plum, black pepper, anise , clove and a good gravel component.
The wine was soft velvety smooth with a medium mouth feel and medium to plus acidity with medium smooth tannin that leads to a medium long finish. A very enjoyable wine. Almost the weekend please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 7 years ago
