First dry red wine from Calabria. 70% Gaglioppo (Greek origin) 30% Greco Nero. Intriguing savoury nose, some herbal elements leading to a less full bodied wine than expected and of course excellent with pasta and wild boar. Superb! Very nice balance of floral and spicy. Lychee type fruit and tastes like it should be sweet but no sweetness, which is hard to describe until you've had it. Had with spicy Thai fishcakes and held up wonderfully. Well worth a try! — 9 years ago
