Blend of Mencia, caiño and bastardo (aka merenzao or trousseau) from biodynamically farmed vineyards in Mandin (Monterrei, Galicia’s smallest and least known appellation). Whole-cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Dark ruby color. Quite pleasant, slightly rustic nose with aromas of dark fruit, some herbal (eucalyptus?) and earthy notes. Fresh, quite dry on the palate, some cherry flavors, high acidity — 3 years ago

Refreshing and very enjoyable! Similar to what we’ve had at little Spain. Bright and a little oaky. More like a sav Blanc but more interesting. — 4 years ago
Decanted for 60 min. colour very deep brick red ,nose fruity raspberries, cherries, some cinnamon, taste is very fresh loads of fresh balanced acid, clearly a food wine , give it two years more 🇪🇸🙏 — 5 years ago
2015. This is a wine for the geek and non-geek alike. A blend of brancellao, caiño, and ferrol (go ahead, look them up. I’ll wait) it offers sour cherry flavors and a hint of fresh herbs wrapped up in a blanket of minerality and crisp acids that are just irresistible. Juicy with light yet puckering tannins. A fun treat to be sure. Great tonight with grilled tri tip. Only 12% abv. $19. (The number score is an error in that I rarely give them. I fat fingered something and now I have to leave a score.) — 6 years ago
