Unexpected. Loses effervescence quickly, drink it fast. I love partida creus! — 6 years ago
A bit too flabby for me, but the fruit is solid—just could have used a bit more acid on the finish to give it some lift. — 7 years ago
First review!! Light, carbonic, grassy, juicy, crisp apple. Yum. — 7 years ago
My first brutal!! A little bit earthy on the nose like a light rain but so much smoother than I expected. Such a nice open with cherry and a peppery finish. Great introduction to this natural wine niche. — 6 years ago
The 2017 A Quo is the only wine Montepeloso bottled in a brutal, challenging vintage in which dehydration took with it 40% of the potential crop. All of the best fruit went into the entry-level A Quo, which is positively stellar in 2017. Red cherry jam, mint, cedar and wild flowers are all wonderfully fused together in a sumptuous, racy Bolgheri red that punches well above its weight. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2020)

Tastes of spiced raspberries and cherries, red currant, but has a spicy heat to it too. Like a slow burn from a jalapeño dipped in your glass. — 8 years ago
Never not loved a brutal. Inky rose. — 8 years ago
I know the cool kids are bored with orange wines, but here in the Midwest we're lucky to get our hands on any. This beauty has a wonderful bitter tamarind flavor I've previously never tasted in wine. Great with food. — 9 years ago
This does not disappoint. Haven’t tasted a huge amount of Tom Lubbe’s wines, but have had the pleasure of meeting him. A wonderful man with great integrity. I hope one day to sit down and discover how he created this devastatingly delicious, can’t-stop-thinking-about-this, wine. The color, the nose, the palate. 10/10. — 6 years ago

Shone dried leaves black cherry nose. Power tannins! White pepper and menthol more prominent in your trap. Chalky lavendar hints. Pleasingly huge and tight. More brutal, less primary than the 2016, oddly. Down a point as the appeal is less universal even though this is more to my taste. — 7 years ago
New favorite. Rose. Brutal never lets me down. 10.62%. Gone in 60 seconds. — 8 years ago

Medium ruby color. Sour cherry on the nose. Hints of floral, rose petals. Low tannin. Medium-full body, almost jammy. A little acidity. A little tart on the finish.
A triumph! We had this with Thanksgiving dinner 2020. — 5 years ago
