Only tried Virginia wine again on a recent trip to Charlottesville. Years ago Virginia wine might have been the punchline to a joke, but certainly not a drinkable beverage. Times have changed. This is a well made fruity low tannin red any winemaker in California would take pride in. I want more, but canโt get it here in Alabama ๐ข. โ 6 years ago

Never in my life have I encountered a beverage like this. This is truly like liquid stone and stone fruit skin in the absolute craziest way. I donโt really know what to do with it but I will be back for more if for none other than shear interest. Not a quaffing wine and by no means is this fun, this is the most serious wine I have ever encountered. Not sloppy and not flawed. Georgian shamanism at its most psychedelic. โ 7 years ago
A domestic favorite. Be careful opening it. If you are not familiar with the method of pouring IMMEDIATELY following the cap removal be prepared to lose most of the beverage to the floor or counter. I would give this a 9.2, but I feel like the unstable fizz is a major damper for most people. โ 8 years ago
I really like the flavor! Refreshing- subtly complex, very fun loving bubbly beverage โ 8 years ago
Amazing summer beverage to be enjoyed sipping solo with no food or company or with a group of people enjoying some seafood or veggie forward dishes. โ 6 years ago
No makeup pretty wine. The beverage is purple as itโs label and also tastes purple-y if I may say so. There was surely some oak at play, something cocoa-y and a touch blackberry jammy. Itโs a wine Iโd take to a Cure concert. I donโt mean to drink. Just personality wise I feel like it would listen to the Cure. If only wine could dance. โ 6 years ago

Delicious coffee malty beverage. โ 6 years ago
This one came home with me. As in, the whole case. I absolutely love this and think it might have to be my go-to summer beverage. Lovely bubbles, pure watermelon fruit, terrific mineral rich and bone dry. Love, love, love! โ 6 years ago
Thanksgiving lunch beverage and it is lovely. โ 6 years ago
Pretty, fresh, mouth-watering aperitif and food-friendly wine from one of the top producers in Montilla-Moriles. Alvear offers several different versions of Pedro Ximenez covering the full spectrum of styles- this one is decidedly austere, light and saline. Limestone and silica found in the unique chalk soils make these wines very vibrant and aromatic, providing great lift. 100 % PX from a single harvest, these are typically bottled after two years in neutral American oak casks and are not fortified (15% ABV). This is showing a very briny mouthfeel and savory flavors ranging from sea salt to green olives to fresh almonds. Not displaying a lot of primary fruit alongside the salinity- subtle apple, pear and other white fruit aromas. The freshness is very appealing, making for a great aperitif and we found it paired wonderfully with seafood tapas and salad. This is not traditional Sherry by any means (technically it is a Sherry-like beverage), but it's a superb value and serves its purpose quite well. โ 7 years ago
This is THE beverage that flipped the switch for me about beer ๐ป. In my wine class at college, the professor taught ancient fermentation methods with this.. honey, lemon, and kiwi. Saffron? Maybe... โ 8 years ago
A great pale ale. As they call it, a Mountain Pale Ale. Nice, moderate hops. Not creamy like a W. Coast Pale Ale, but just a perfect blend of a refreshing beverage with satisfying hops. Love this beer. Watch out, it's 6.5%. Headed to Greek Fest soon. Diving into their wines later. โ 8 years ago
