Nicely settled Puligny Montrachet at 7 years. Well judged usage of oak and classy finish on the palate. With barbecued sea bream. — 6 years ago
Nervy bright with aromas and flavors of bing cherry and earth. Just lovely enjoyed with Sea Bream in the country of origin, Switzerland. — 6 years ago
Interesting wine from Corsica. Local version of the sangiovese grape apparently. Aged in steel / concrete, this is a robustly flavored but lighter bodied wine. Long finish with good but gentle acid. Surprisingly good pairing with sea bream. — 8 years ago
So smooth, too easy to drink with everything from monkfish liver, wagyu, uni, king mackerel, sea bream, barracuda.... — 8 years ago

Superlative Gavi by Banfi - revitalizing, vibrant, elegant & sapid. 100% Cortese. Partial MLF.
Lemony yellow with clean greenish glitters.
Subtle yet distinct nose of linden blossom, white rose, banana, ripe yellow apple, limestone, white grapefruit and marzipan. Whiff of white raspberry & marjoram.
Perfectly balanced medium-bodied palate, with vivid acidity and strong mineral backbone. Refreshing and kind of creamy. Citrus (mostly lemon and white grapefruit), carambola, green gooseberry, pippin apple, quince.
Rosemary, white currant and pippin apple.
Paired my gilt-head bream baked with herbs finely! — 9 years ago
2020/4/15-16 with Venetian red tonguebsole roasted with potatoes and onions and chicory salad, and black sea bream linguine and fava, pancetta and onion ragu. Monteraponi is always so good - up there with Montevertine among my favorite Chianti estates. The 2017 edition is a light to medium weight with a nice transparent texture, and that dried orange peel and cherry thing. — 5 years ago

Vintage 2018 | Pale colour, rich though introverted smell with citrus and a vague honey impression. Also flint. Powerfull Chenin Blanc taste with roundness. Will develop more complexity with age. Paired with fried sea bream (dorade). — 4 years ago
