Wow! Amazing wine! You won't miss the barrel on this beauty. As the fruit tannins are omnipresent. Spicy with red currant and caperberry playing alongside gooseberry, blackberry and boisenberry seamlessly. Your first thought is grape-y, but that would be an abecedarian conclusion. This is wine with depth, unlike pretenders in unoaked territory, and entirely satisfying in every sense! Brava! Abrigado! — 10 years ago
Crowd pleaser, too! Smelling it, I think of buckthorn. My friends thought of tamarind, though. I like that. My third bottle. What a fun drink! :-) By the way, store cool and in upright position. Lay it down and the cork might be pushed out. Or worse: friends had one bottle explode all over their (room temp) pantry. The store replaced their bottle, saying the know about the problem. Their display bottle has the cork pushed out about 2mm. On one of my bottles, I saw dried-up drips on the outside of the wax seal. So the store now told me to store it upright and cool.Doesn't seem like something you should store for longer than a few months. Who needs tertiary aromas with something that funky anyways!? — 10 years ago

I have to say, it is not what I expected from Turley, or even a Petite Sirah. Very elegant, not too much on a jammy side, and brighter red fruits to the mid pallet.. not as dark, spicy, and chocolatey rich as most.
Smoke, cherry, cedar, wildflower, vanilla all I'm the nose. The pallet was pretty balanced, exhibiting notes of black raspberry, Bing cherry, cloves, mocha (not too rich on the cocoa), and a smooth, slightly thin finish. Had a little more Syrah to the feel of it, but I will say maybe my faith in Turley wines has been renewed, ever so slightly. Brava, Mrs. Turley! — 9 years ago

Very classy, great expression of Valdeorras Godello. Tons of vibrancy and super wide range of fruit flavors from lime all the way to pears but never overtly fruity. Allows the taster to investigate each flavor at will. Better than 99% of the Chardonnays I've tried. Brava! — 11 years ago
