Contrary to most reviews I liked this - a lot. This wine is different. Very soft mouth feel with the bubbles. Has tart fruit but a little barnyard funk on it. Had with a cheese and charcuterie board which was perfect with the slight sweetness of the wine. If you're looking to try something a little off the beaten path - this is it. — 7 years ago
If a wine can be honest (& a farmers wine to boot), this is it. Even threw off a bit of sediment for such a youngin'. Much much better the 2nd day. Doesnt have the acidic snap that some of my fave Bourgueils do, but Im rootin for it — 7 years ago

@Mesa in Zurich - the wine has lovely expression of fresh fruits, with pomegranate and cranberry accents, on a slightly spicy background. — 5 years ago

Old vine ungrafted Cabernet franc. Amazing value and most consumers just don't get it. Food friendly and very good. — 8 years ago
Stinky, reductive, needs lots of air & time to breath. Funky cab franc which many won't like. — 8 years ago
For me Bourguiel does not get any more rustic than this! Love this wine. — 10 years ago
Shows nicely! Fruit is gone, but leaves pleasant smoke/embers on the nose, some licorice root — 6 years ago

What a nose - velvety, perfectly ripe cab franc smoky dark fruit with some bell pepper and tobacco accents. A bit of a let down on the palate: truly velvety texture and lovely fruit but lacking intensity and fades a touch too quickly on the finish. Still, a heck of a deal for 20 year old wine at $50. — 7 years ago
