After 39 years, this wine still has held up well. Typical Rioja Tempranillo grapes with tobacco, leather and black fruit to the nose. Oaky. Almost no tannins and still balanced.

People just informed will use the topical phrase "Viva España" to give a favorable review of a Catalan cava, but the current reality is that in Spain there is a growing opposition to the Catalan cava (related to the independence will of Catalan people against Spanish supremacy ). So "Viva España" is not a fortunate toast to honor a Catalan cava. Try at Google "Catalan cava boycott" to get more information. Is not Enology, nor taste, is Politics.
