Very smooth and good with spicy and red meat — 6 years ago
Smoked eucalyptus and gamey.
Blackberry, dark plum, tha basil, eucalyptus. mint, anise, layer upon layers of gorgeous fruit, with herbs dancing with great pagan mystery, underneath those waves.
This is one of those wines that hits every bit of what you want a more expensive bottle to be.
Priced to buy by the case as a every nighter.

Very smooth. Much lighter than a typical Malbec. Had this with Sushi @ Enso and it was very good. — 10 years ago
In 1997 Chateau Mouton Rothschild teamed up with Concha y Toro on Cabernet-Sauvignon vines. Wow, what a partnership. — 11 years ago

Flavorful Castilian Verdejo, served with pasta (NHSLS) — 2 years ago
If I had rated this one the night I opened it, I would have given it a slightly lower score. At first, I caught aromas of leather and meat drippings and flavors of sundried tomatoes. A couple of nights later, the wine had opened up nicely and had more floral and spice aromas and flavors of red berries and earth. Needless to say, an interesting wine, indeed. And from the Canary Islands! Huh. 90% Listan Negro, 10% Castellana Negra. 9/1/22. — 3 years ago
Just beautiful, needs a decant to develop fully but worth it. Silky smooth — 5 years ago

Ruby, violet border. Ash, berries on the nose. Fruity, cherry on the mouth. Quite nice wine. — 7 years ago
Incredible nose. Fresh in the mouth, really enjoyable. — 7 years ago
My second time tasting this wine. Wow was it showing well with living red fruit. The fruit was complex, rich, and wise. The complexity and length were incredibly long. This was as smooth as it gets. Even the core was still slightly red. #marquésderiscal #rioja #1911 #spain #ctbucklinwine — 9 years ago

Varietally fermented & aged. French oak (10-14 months), then assemblage.
Prominent roasted, smokey aromas, leather, blueberry, blackberry, menthol, coffee bean, clove, black pepper, dried violets, pencil shavings.
Ripe blackberry, blueberry, and plum; vanilla bean, cocoa nib, black pepper, crushed rock / graphite. Fresh acidity; tannins resolving nicely but still robust.
Drink now with food now or revisit in 2-3yrs. (Nb. variance has been a factor - some have peaked) — 9 months ago
