The Petite Syrah by which I judge all other Petite Syrahs. Full-bodied, rich dark berry, tobacco, earthy hints of peppery spice, but soft. Tannins are mild, easy. Deep purple with ruby edges and just a pale hint of oxidation. — 10 years ago

This little Irish girl is feeling very lucky and thankful indeed for some R&R. A year ago today, I was spending St Patty's Day the same way I am today - with a challenging morning workout, some tennis (w/ an epic 31 point rally!), pool time w/ a good book, a nap, and lunch w/ a glass of Pride overlooking this breathtaking Blue Ridge Mtn view. It begs the question - can it get any better? What would your perfect day look like?? #throwbackthursday (yes I hear that double entendre....) — 10 years ago
Thought it was a blend then thought it was from Cali then thought it was from Sonoma then thought it was a single varietal, and then thought it was a cab sauv....not really. Tremendous display of restraint and composure. Very blue though. — 11 years ago
On a hunch, Hugh Davies replanted his Diamond Mountain estate vineyard with Cabernet in 1994. Since then, he's moved his sparkling grape parcels to cooler regions. A stroke of brilliance, really because Cab flourishes on Diamond Mountain and the 2012 J. Davies offers the most sumptuous aromas of plums, black currents, anise, mint and allspice. In the mouth, it's sensuous and hedonistic with round, ripe silky tannins, and ample blue fruit notes embellished by layers of mocha, minerals and subtle earthiness. Sample — 11 years ago
Blue Mountain Pinot Gris. Dry yet floral. Silky mouth feel. Crisp. — 12 years ago
Lovely & rich. Balanced dark fruit forward. Great bang for the buck. Paired perfectly with a soft creamy blue/brie cheese blend. — 10 years ago
'97 Togni Napa Cab was as good inside the bottle as it was ugly on the outside from humid storage. Cedary dark cherry with more facets than a well-cut diamond. Powerful at its core, this baby could go for another decade, with fresh layers of blue and red fruit, leather and smoke. — 10 years ago
Very delicate nose, hints of sweetness, mostly earthy.
A very nice terroir in the mouth. Good fruit in this wine, matched with a hint of spice towards the finish. Finishes very nicely, though not incredibly long. A delicate wine with great depth. Stands up on its own, and matched very well with the salmon we had. — 11 years ago
Blue fruits, plum and violets on the nose. Dark blue and black fruit, minerals and fleshy soft finish. — 11 years ago
This still needs time, but blossomed after open for 1.5 hours. For a 15% wine it's not hot, purity of fruit, cassis and blue flowers. Killer. Tony Biagi is a very good winemaker. M — 11 years ago

Fairly earthy. Perhaps a hint of licorice? Smooth and paired perfectly with blue cheese crusted filet mignon!
