So far I'm very impressed with this producer. The Chardonnay pleasantly surprised me. Tropical fruit, melon, stone fruit such as pears and peaches. The nose is very aromatic. M+ acid. M body. A hint of creaminess on the palate. Balanced. Great structure and long finish. Like the Viognier I'm surprised by the low price point. — 10 years ago
An enjoyable Italian sparkling rosé. Made a nice pairing with homemade Chesapeake crab cakes and Commander's Palace remoulade. — 10 years ago
Ideal with the chargrilled tenderloin of beef at Commander's Palace. — 11 years ago
Yes, 6 varietals….nevertheless, the Monticello tar/singe is framing this one. The 2012 was decidedly more balanced. EDIT: after a full day of air the funk wore off and the sour turned decidedly more balanced and sweet… Worthy of a one point pump ;) — 5 years ago
Commanders palace 9/23 tasting!! Amazing, especially with that goat cheese with the volcanic ash — 6 years ago

Got home, saw bottle, uncorked & Poured. Deep, dark, luscious fruit. Fades on the mid palace and has a soft medium finish. You've got to Love this wine!! Approachable from the onset & quite tasty!! I can't wait to see how it evolves as the night goes on. I'll be back! — 10 years ago

Really great light red wine — 11 years ago
Typical CdR blend of Grenache, Syrah & Carignan with a dash of Cinsault, gives the typical fruit forward flavors (raspberries, blackberries, plums) yet in a very light, airy & crunchy manner - more of a gothic cathedral than a baroque palace.
On the palate this is also airy & light, with fresh crunchy fruit (Black fruit again, with a touch of olive), good quality, juicy tannins and a mineral backbone. Weightless almost, and this despite 14.5% alc!
A beauty!

Yummmm Dave rosé. Basic and delectable ;) — 6 years ago
I was surprised - genuinely impressed at the weight-to-acid balance...both fresh and polished. Part 2 of the test - chix Alfredo: it handled it! The Sur-lie carried the day :) 17$ for this assassin? yes, more of the 207! — 6 years ago

Floral with red rose petals and violet. Both red and black berries, plum. M acid, body and tannin. Not overly oaked. Fresh and balanced. — 10 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Opened another recently, legendary wine, said that in the 18th century was introduced to Sultan of Constantinople's palace b/c of its clarity and called "mineral water from Carbonnieux", defying Islamic law. Pale lemon with pronounce aromas of tropical and stone fruits with herb notes. On the palate flavors of melon, mango, apple, green herbs and a crisp mineral edge. Medium+ length, balanced acidity, ending with a fruit, citrus mineral character. Nice, aging well. — 5 years ago
