Warm vanilla and sherry trifle notes bordering on sponge cake with candied orange peel and cloves, as well as caramel apple, baked pear, baklava and bahri dates in this nose-feast. Hot entry with heavy oak that bites like a thorny rose stem, burnt brittle, toasted black sesame, leather whips, black pepper, vanilla bean, cedar, spicy tobacco with a squirt of grape seed extract, lingers on an wooden point that suggests cypress, but my mind returns to lac and wood stain, if they were edibles. There is also an igneous quality to the whole. The wooden Arrow of rye whiskey: Hot hot hot! #Willet #whiskey #whisky #rye #ryewhiskey #rarewhisky #barrel — 8 years ago
Drinking well. '13 of this isn't for long term cellaring but will develop well over the next couple of years. Black cherry, strawberry, cigar box, forest floor, white button mushroom, pink grapefruit acidity. Good length. — 9 years ago
Super bright and earthy CF that is so charming to drink. Great weight and density to the fruit. Juicy but not heavy handed. Pure and transparent earthy aromas/flavors. Love the fine and soft tannin profile. Lovely acid. Raspberry and black berry, wet tobacco leaves, violets, button mushrooms, potting soil. — 10 years ago
Oloroso sherry in color. In your face sherry aromas of hazelnut, black currant, dried red fruits, almond, honey, vanilla, smoke, and subtle floral notes. Gorgeous mouthfeel, very, very subtle peat notes in the back palate. Finish is a warm blanket right out of the dryer! Amazing! — 10 years ago
One you want to keep at home :) — 10 years ago
Subtle hints of juniper with bright citrus notes taking the lead. Aromas of cinnamon, orange peel, and Cascade hops with an off-dry citrus driven palate. Makes for an incredible gin and tonic. — 11 years ago
Black cherry, tar, molasses, maduro tobacco, clove, and leather. Rich, long, complex, and polished. Astonishing bourbon. — 12 years ago
Color of black tea. Nose of apple, oil, paint, crayon, lemon tea, and minty. Taste is spicy, yet quite sweet from caramel, and grapefruit zest. Quite smooth. Overall, combination of simple yet delightful flavors (spice and sweetness, bittersweet zest), not too complex but straightforward, and easy to enjoy. — 7 years ago
Great, slightly sweet taste! A notch less than Johnny Walker Black Label! Had it with ice & a little bit of water! — 8 years ago
Peat, burnt coffee, old campfire, old black cherries, charred jerky. — 8 years ago
Olive tapenade, wet leather, ripe red plum and black cherry tart, cola with dark rose aromas. Medium mouthfeel with currants, dried black cherry, black olive, button portobello mushroom. Firmly tannic, with a dried violet, and bitter blood orange/pekoe. #northernitalianwines #barbera #croatina #buttafuoco #italianredwine #TreDonne #Giorgi — 9 years ago
Cinnamon-apple, marshmallow, chocolate macaron, oregano and peppermint nose. Smooth entry with cold coffee, cedar, tobacco leaf, cherry stem, bakers chocolate, black currant, toast, camphor that lingers eternally on a mouth-numbing journey. — 10 years ago
Thick, viscous mouthfeel. Black cherry, blackberry, black currant, light smoke, vanilla, coconut, and sherry notes. Dried grass and spices round out the finish. Exceptional Hanyu whisky! — 10 years ago
Mistook it for a scotch when I tasted it blind. My birthday shot is impressively different. I feel like if I knew it was an Irish whisky, my rating would have been lower. There's a sweetness to it and I appreciate every bit. — 11 years ago
Black currant, forest floor, button mushroom, cranberry. Not only do I love the people who make this wine, I love everything Cristom does- time after time this wine never disappoints. I want to drink this with every holiday meal! #oregonpinotnoir @cristomwine #cristom #willamettevalley — 7 years ago
Color of light black tea. Nose of oak, fermented grains, ripe fruits, and aldehyde. Taste is super oaky and woody, with sweet vanilla, caramel, a bit spice , orange zest, cinnamon, and flowering note. Aftertaste of flowering and honey note, a bit spice, and some more oak. Pretty straightforward and decent. — 7 years ago
Extremely smooth bourbon taste with creamy finish. Sweet liquor. Far less bite than Bailey's (made with Irish whiskey) — 8 years ago
Just about as Texas as any beer could be. Imperial stout from Martin House Brewing Company, aged 6 months in Witherspoon Distillery Bourbon Barrels from Lewisville, TX, and brewed from a variety of 8 specialty hops and Columbus hops. Pours like the blood coursing through the veins of Acheron - dark black, and with the consistency of tar. This is some tasty stuff! Sadly, last of the two cans in my allocation! — 9 years ago
🤤 so elegant, very beautiful wine. Black cherry, crushed roses, graphite, button mushroom, fennel, leather. Energetic acidity, rather feminine tannin, taut but young. Classic Sangiovese character with those rustic edges rounded off. — 9 years ago
Cigar, rubber, campfire, iodine, black fruits, and cereal grains. Chewy mouthfeel. — 10 years ago
Wegmans, C dark ruby, N berry, jammy, bourbon distillery; raspberry, cherry, black currant, maple, brown sugar, oak, spirits — 10 years ago
One of the best bottles of GC Burg I've had. This is in perfect form right now. Showing a perfect intermingled harmony between fruit and tertiary vinous character. Not over oaked at all. Very tart intact red and black cherries with acrid pomegranate and bramble. A kiss of brett with moist, mossy soil like earth including a white button mushroom presence. Dusty stone minerality with a cedar and light pepper finish. This is quite wonderful. I think 99 burgundy is just so spot on to drink now. — 10 years ago

Sweet vanilla and maple smell with some cedar in the background. A nice sting of alcohol on the nose. Just enough to let you know your getting too close. Very Earthy taste. Mushrooms and dirt and munched wood, but I mean that in a good way. There that strong black tea that I have come to expect, and love in all Maker's Mark. The burn is hot and lingers like eating chili, it almost makes you sweat. Something else in the back that I can't quite place...very rustic like eating roasted vegetables. Would add some water to make it a little easier to sip. Fantastic Bourbon if you can get it. — 11 years ago
Hello again friends. Simple review tonight. 51% syrah/25% malbec/24% petit verdot. There's purple fruit (boysenberry? black raspberry?) in here. Minerality kicks you in the throat. I hate to admit that because this vineyard is touted as an oyster graveyard, "therefore mineral character, of course..." I did a lit review on minerality in wine and nobody seems to understand it - it's certainly not as simple as calcium in the soil. But this bitch pushes the mineral button for sure. Hell of a deal at $17.49. Opened yesterday and had a glass, refrigerated, absolutely crushed the remainder tonight w/ grilled scallions smothered in romesco. — 13 years ago

Color is quite deep, like concentrated black tea. Nose is powerful, oily, crayon, aldehyde, spicy, apple cider, and a bit oak. Taste is spicy, minty, oaky, zesty, and drier than I pictured in the first sip. Ginger and more zest in the following sips. Still quite dry until finally caramel like sweetness comes out. Powerful and Anot for faint heart. — 7 years ago
