Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Trebbiano-Malvasia Blend 2011

Truncated notes from our family Biden election celebration. Intense nose has hazelnut/hickory nut notes, date/golden raisin fruit, length than reverberates endlessly. Wo-wo-wee-wo, as Borat would say. — 4 years ago

Badia a Coltibuono Sangioveto di Toscana Sangiovese 2011

100% Sangio. 100% incredibile! For a 28th anniversary dinner with my wonderful wife. Sight unseen (so to speak) I was impressed beyond words. Went to Coltibuono this summer but didn’t taste this; however they swore up and down that the Sangioveto had the goods. And it did in spades! So rich and savory. The depth of cherry fruit and silky tannin is off the charts. I only wish I had another bottle to age for 3-5 years and taste some heaven then. Molto buono!!! — 7 years ago

Toscana Sangiovese 2011

OMG! Old Vine Sangiovese from a vineyard near Badia a Passignano made by the guy who was behind Le Pergole Torte for 25 years. Unreal! Unfortunately he makes only 2400 bottles so this wine doesn't virtually exist ... — 9 years ago

I Sodi del Paretaio Chianti Sangiovese Blend

Had this in Florence and was only 18€. So good and maybe I imagined it but when the waiter decanted it, it smelled more flavorful before I took a sip. Very good Chianti for the price. — 5 years ago

This wine reminds me of my childhood- Guayaba paste or guava paste ( only a cuban sommelier would understand) , orange peel and honey. Made from Malvasia Nero. — 9 years ago

Vin Santo del Chianti 2009

I am not a big fan of Vin Santo so I was pleasantly surprised with this 2009. Sweet but not cloying with refreshing acidity and a light mouthfeel. The blend of Trebbiano, Malvasia and Colombana gives a nice nuttiness and generous apricot and almond on the nose. — 9 years ago
