Amazing wine......drinking with Rob K who just got promoted (again) to Full Prof (yes the spelling of Full is correct).....at this rate he will be Dean of the Faculty by August. Wine is a wild mixture of petroleum, chocolate, toffee, blueberrys.......everlasting finish......for a 2002 this thing is hitting its prime right now — 9 years ago
Very nice Aussie Riesling! Lots of citrus and honey notes. Some notes of slate. Very pleasant. — 10 years ago
Still full of alcohol and has a hint of currents. Tanino have smoothed out. — 11 years ago
2005. A house favourite and one of the best expressions of New World Riesling which exists. The late release adds both a great story but the required time to make this superb wine really sing. — 11 years ago
V nice Shiraz - a lot of depth, and great value at under $20! — 12 years ago

2004 in 2017, absolutely fantastic, best bottle out of my cellar yet! Fruits and leather, great tannins! — 9 years ago
Plum, blackberry, black cherry, licorice, vanilla and mint (of course!). Big and round and fruitier on the mouth than nose. — 10 years ago
Beautiful Aussie Riesling. Dry as the Sahara, complex and acidic. Will get more of this. — 11 years ago
Huge, classic Barossa Shiraz--loads of fruit but a bit more balanced now. — 11 years ago
Nice dark red color, aromas of cherry, herbs and creme se cassis. Smooth- niche blend of Cab and Shiraz. — 9 years ago
Thanks to Reid for all his time today and hosting such a great bottle tasting and 2017 tank tasting. Reid is salt of the earth, a humble Winemaker and gentleman. This is their Flagship wine " "Old Bastard." The fruits are very ruby and elegant as well as smooth as all get out. Another one to cellar and have it in 3, 7 and 10 years. From the 135 year old vines featured in the photo. — 9 years ago
Great Shiraz from Barossa with great ageing potential. Big core and good tannins, with a floral, spicy, and botanical nose. The pallet exhibits dark vibrant raspberries, black pepper, bay leaf, burnt espresso bean, and silver dollar eucalyptus toward the lingering finish. I still find the RWT to be more my style, in comparison to this beimg more lean in structure and spicy in character. It was a bit less extracted which for some is preferable, but every so often I enjoy more of a rich extracted style of wine. Overall, great effort and I would like to see this one in a few more years.
Cheers!

Thick. Luscious and got plenty of legs. Love this blend — 11 years ago
Spice and fruit combo on the nose is great. A touch of dusty oak. Love the fruit weight this has going and well balanced with the tannins. Drinks beautifully. — 11 years ago
I love Dan Standish. He is one of the best winemakers. Lovely wine, very young. Blueberry and Red silky fruit. Full Bodied but not overly alcoholic, heat isn't obvious in this wine. Great length and layers of flavours. Big points from me 95 points. A producer I highly recommend! Typical sweet Barossa fruit, very seductive... — 11 years ago
