This is an exceptional Sauvignon Blanc. It is a cool climate wine, more similar to a Sancerre than a new world SB. It knocked my socks off. — 6 years ago
Think it’s a little young?? Idk, very good. Think it could enrich in time. Coal, oak, smoky, but a little too red fruity on after taste. However after a glass that acidity is very nice. Maybe it just needed to open up. — 6 months ago

Old-school hint of barnyard funk in the nose. Not enough for any concern, and it plays nicely with tangy, zingy macerated cherry and spice. A bit of crushed stone. Rapier-like acids propel the fruit along. Tannins are very soft. (Thanks to my brother @Angelo Casagrande for the gift!) — 6 months ago
Salanques: Poured into a decanter several hours prior and returned to the bottle just before dinner. The 2007 “Salanques” pours, a deep garnet color with a near opaque, core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and slightly desiccated red and dark fruits, red cherries, blackberries, dried red flowers, well-oiled leather, rocky minerals, light baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (that is mostly integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Showing remarkable elegance; this is a delicious, gorgeous Priorat that is currently firing on all cylinders. A lovely pairing with paella a variety of traditional Spanish tapas. Drink now and over the next 10 years. — 8 months ago

Black pepper , black berry, good tannins, acidity is on point! Fruits in the nose and pepper in the finish. Tart dark cherry! — 4 years ago
Very close to my idea of a desert island wine. At 13% it has more smooth edges but that lovely thread of acidity common to its more expensive & jagged Vallana cousins. Dark red fruits, violets, tree bark. Juicy too, the tannins are pretty integrated. Skurnik importer. — 5 years ago
Deep purple colors in the glass. Heavy cab with blueberry, vanilla, and tasting notes of earth. Very yummy cab and went perfectly with pot roast. — 5 years ago

Little funk on the nose. Sour cherry, some minerals and a bit of smoke. Little lighter than I expected, some healthy tannin on the back end. Really fine wine for $20 or so. Nice to see Vallana’s around again. — 4 months ago
