Yeah buddy. Dialed up the funk huge on the nose. Barnyard and Brett. Palate is pummeling with sandpaper tannin and tight, focused smoke. Body is big and hot but somehow refined.

Alto Piemonte is such a reliable source of great value, ageworthy yet accessible Nebbiolo. This one hit all the dusty cherry, earth and rose petal notes and was a perfect match with duck legs

This weekend I have opened the 2007 Antonio Vallana e Figlio Gattinara Nebbiolo.
On the nose it is light with notes of cherry, raspberry, leather, anise, rose petals and an earthy component.
On the palate is tart cherry, sour cranberry, raspberry, herbaceous qualities, with an earthy note.
This wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and high grippy tannins that leads to a long tannic finish. Enjoy your weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Another good value from the Alto Piemonte. Great with a burger and chicken at union square cafe. Aromatic, mouth filling, balanced, loads of freshness.

Was delighted about how good this was just right after pouring it into a decanter without much agitation. Even better when it was enjoyed with a fennel sausage pizza.
