Vinhos Barbeito (Rare Wine Company Historic Series)

Boston Special Reserve Bual Madeira

Delicious. Coffee, toffee, very nice acidity, quite sweet (it says semi dry). Mandarines. A perfect dessert wine. Would be a ridiculous great match with Tiramisu! — a year ago

Single Harvest Colheita Madeira Malmsey 1996

Yes!! Nutty and nice toffee sweets! This is interesting Madeira! Not the acidity that Bual has. Great glass. — 3 years ago

San Antonio Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Deep purple colors in the glass. Heavy cab with blueberry, vanilla, and tasting notes of earth. Very yummy cab and went perfectly with pot roast. — 6 years ago

Cantina Ar.Pe.Pe.

Riserva Sant' Antonio Grumello Valtellina Superiore Nebbiolo 2009

Amazingly tight for a 16-year old wine. The acids are smell-able on the nose, zinging along tart, macerated wild cherry fruit and glacier-crushed rock fragments. (OK, maybe I’m making up the part about how the crushed rocks were created.) In the mouth it’s deep but the acids rip this along on the palate like a whitewater canoe ride. Really really unique and good. — 9 months ago

10 Years Old Madeira Malmsey

I love Madeira. I don’t know if it loves me but it is at least on friendly terms with my taste buds. My taste buds like dessert. Even if you think you don’t like sweet wine the acidity on this may turn your head. It is a nuts cutting down molasses mountains carpeted in trees loosing glazed nuts. Malmsey. Definitely my friend. — 5 years ago

Casa Marin

Cipreses Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc

This is an exceptional Sauvignon Blanc. It is a cool climate wine, more similar to a Sancerre than a new world SB. It knocked my socks off. — 7 years ago

D'Oliveiras

Reserva Madeira Bastardo 1927

The rarest of them all and a crown jewel of D'Oliveiras, one of only two who even make Bastardo. So complex with unbelievable power and intensity and racy acids balancing its delicate sweetness. Finishes forever. A profound Madeira! — 9 months ago

5 Years Old Reserve Madeira

First off, anything that does not spoil for eons gets extra points: also, you can do anything from chocolate to pork pairing. Not complex but doesn’t need to be. Just bought the 10 yro reserve so will be interesting to compare — 5 years ago
