The only Champagne in their flight. First time having this producer.
It has gentle, micro bubbles. Soft mousse. Again, a touch sweet. At least for me. Seems more than 9g. It is interesting to me that with all of France’s rather strict wines laws, I have seen extra brut over 6g & brut over 9g.
Full cherries to kirsch quality, strawberries, pomegranate and raspberries. Gentle dry herbal notes, moist, crumbled chalk & limestone, yeast notes, some white spice, sea fossil/spray, crumbled grey volcanics, pink & red roses, pleasant round acidity, nicely polished finish that is more fruit than earth as it sets and lasts 45 seconds to a minute. — 8 months ago

Absolutely delicious. Beautiful with caviar, potato chips, and crème fraiche. A friend brought back from Champagne. Really lovely stuff. — 3 years ago

Opened the day before with half the bottle remaining. The 2007 CdR Villages pours a deep purple color with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated dark brambles, red and purple flowers, open pasture land, olives, some black pepper, leather and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. This is an impressive wine despite the rather modest designation, especially when you consider it’s nearly 18 years old! Then again, the talent behind this wine should yield a solid wine (Pegau & Cailloux). Drink now though it could easily see its 25th birthday if you must hold one longer. — 6 months ago
Lovely nose of ripe pear, honey, cake frosting. Pretty easy to sip - round, toasty, decent acidity, slight pleasant bitterness, fresh enough but age showing nicely. — a year ago

I guess I like Rose now?? — 7 years ago
A 6 for 60 pick that was quite good. Citrusy and sharp but not biting. — 7 years ago
bone-dry finish mellowed by the ripe-apricot character, plus hints of toast and melted butter. — 6 months ago
Nose is minty and spicey. Palate is deep and rich with terrific mineral spine and wonderful structure. Ripe but substantial tannin. Nose has notes of ripe plum, peanuts and a saline element. Really good energy and depth. Not the most elegant wine but this has tremendous material and its own grace and charm. This needs air but I really like it. — 8 months ago
Rosemary, basil, pepper, dried hay, dried violet on the nose. Juicy fresh cherries, ripe blueberries, purple flowers, and stones on the palate. Medium plus acidity, medium (+) tannins. 14.5%. Pronounced concentration and long finish. — 6 years ago
Beautiful Thanksgiving wine! — 7 years ago
