Drinking way above its pay grade.... Again. I love 96 Bordeaux. Beautiful nose with plenty of fruit but telltale pepper. Long life. — 10 years ago
83 vintage was showing strong tannin still... Lovely wine, everything there but definitely in to secondary flavour characteristics. Even this far back Pontet-Canet was punching above it's 5th growth status. #mtlwinethrowdown — 11 years ago
Full bodied and well-balanced. Delicious chard but priced well above what most are willing to pay for CA Chards. — 12 years ago

Great bubbles, complex on the back end. A steal at €27, and head and shoulders above its peers. — 10 years ago
One of my go to high end wines. Regardless of the vintage the wine seems to press on through. This particular vintage was a cut above. — 10 years ago
Lovely balance, opened up with a bit of aeration and punched well above its weight. — 11 years ago
Great value claret with a bit of age, punching well above! — 11 years ago
Very tasty! As Lloyd put it... "It's a step above our wine in a box." :) — 12 years ago
I'm fairly new to Girard wines, but really quite fond of this cab blend. I've tasted the '11 as well and this seems to be a step above. Really opens nicely after a bit of a decant...medium bodied but full of great flavor. — 10 years ago
Darker red fruits, blackcurrant, tinge of sweetness, soft tannins that faded with air, denser and really punched above its weight — 10 years ago
Very excited to get my hands on a bottle. A nice balance of Chenin and Reisling. I enjoyed letting the wines temperature rise slightly and taste the different layers. — 10 years ago
Merlot with a dash of Syrah, this wine gives you red cherries and dusty blackberries with a sprinkling of pink peppercorns. Punches above its weight class.

Delicious tart cherries and vanilla finish. Love it, great sipper on its own — 11 years ago
Bogle winemakers have crafted an expressive example of this classic varietal. Richly extracted cherry and cassis arrest the senses, holding captive on both the nose and the palate. Swiftly followed by black pepper and black olive, the supple mouthfeel fills out this full-bodied wine. Spicy American oak heightens the dense fruit, finishing with wisps of ground pepper and stellar tannins.
This well-balanced red wine can be savored with a variety of meat dishes, rich sauces or aged cheeses. Try a rib eye with blue cheese butter. — 12 years ago

Not ever sure why the 61 vintage sells at or even above Petrus price as I've never had it but rest of the old vintages are just lovely and relatively a bargain! This bottle had all the nuances and elegance of a fine lady at ease with oneself. Love it! — 10 years ago
