Well constructed, medium body, Cherry on the nose. Smooth raspberries & cherries on the palate, mild tobacco finish - no oak. Developed some mild tangy - pomegranate notes w/ decanting (2 hours). Paired nicely w/ breaded deer steaks & mushroom - black truffle sauce over quinoa . (2010) — 8 years ago

There was a time when I thought this was the best Merlot made.... it was about $8 then... just paid $15.49 and saved about $4.50 with the grocery shoppers discount card....still fairly stellar — 7 years ago

The purest a Vidal can get. Primary aromas of apricot, but the age allowed for some nice caramel complexities to show up. Rich on the palate with strong honey tones and a touch of citrus hiding in the back. Really lingers too, and paired well with a salted caramel cheesecake. — 6 years ago
