Deep dark purple color that gets brown towards the rim. I find it tight, but get the earthy, tobacco and chalk coming through.

High tannins, low acidity, mineral flavor and dry. Not very fruity at all.

There was a time when I thought this was the best Merlot made.... it was about $8 then... just paid $15.49 and saved about $4.50 with the grocery shoppers discount card....still fairly stellar

Medium - heavy bodied, deep red color, not much on the nose but that could be due to the inferior small goblets we were served. Drier than most Merlots, cassis with a hint of tobacco or spice near the long smooth light oaky finish.
