We wanted to give a Montrose a try before the 10 year mark. No disappointments here ! Very dark blackish rubi robe, very reticent nose with hints of violets, a full bodied mouth with very silky tannins and very long finish. Decant 2 to 3 hours in advance now or give it another 5 to 7 years. Great wine that always punches above its ranking (in spite highly ranked!) and enthusiastically recommended. — 5 years ago

A shocker for a 94! Better than any Bordeaux 94 I can remember. Lush mouth feel of top Pomerol and sustained elegant richness throughout. Only slightly dried out after 2 hours and drank the bits of sediment. — 10 years ago

1/2 bottle with low neck fill and perfect cork. Probably just smell the cork all night as beautiful purplish color and tight seal on top. Wine drank amazingly well but certainly lacks the depths of a better vintage. Good tannins and acid left as well nice core of fruit that was there for 15 minutes. — 10 years ago
