16 years and held up well. Smoother now then when I first remember trying to the 2003. Blackberry hint with a licorice finish. Enjoyed with friends for relaxing after Christmas evening. — 5 years ago
Rich, sappy, concentrated, fleshy, full bodied, expressive, and hedonistic with notions of dark fruit, chocolate, bacon, graphite, and wood smoke. Finishes long and saturating but smooth, showing no hard edges over the ~3 hours this bottle was consumed. A blend of 49% grenache, 25% carignan, 16% syrah, and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Drinkable now but has many more years left in it.... — 6 years ago

Drank on 16/12/20 at Orchard Residence. Nice bouquet with strong earth, leather flavour,. Very long finishes — 4 years ago
2016 Vintage. 16.1% Alcohol. PNP mistake as @Roman Sukley said it needed 36 hours in a decanter. Monster wine that was brooding and unwilling to open up and then poof was gone. Also our first bottle opened from our allocation and will try to wait a few years before trying again. Upstaged at this point by the 2016 SQN Dirt Vernacular Grenache blend that is raring to go. — 5 years ago

K: I LOVE Mollydooker wines. The fruit is always supremely extracted, the mouthfeel is soft, fine and luscious- and the 2016 “Maitre D” Cabernet is nooooo exception. The ‘16’s to begin with were awesome in Australia and, from what I have had, resplendent across the board. The deep nose of this one opens up to, frankly; an explosion of fruit on the palate. The tannins are so beautifully chewy, and reveal a mid-palate that is packed with a rich and exuberant set of currant, cassis- and a velvety texture that leads gracefully to a long and juicy finish. See: 2016- good downunda. — 5 years ago
Slight nose of Scotch. Smoke, oak, and chocolate notes. — 8 years ago
A very dense Ruby in colour. Aromas of coconut oak - very oaky - a match I guess with the ultra ripe red and black fruits - pruney notes. Ultra concentrated McLaren Vale Shiraz writ large! Full bodied and rich - a winter wine par excellence. Medium minus acid. Right to drink this now or the next year or two. This wine was #2 in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 of 2014. A great match with Beef Brisket on a cold night. 16% ABV. — 5 years ago
My wife purchased this and in her words, "this greatly exceeded expectations!". At $16, this is a steal. Silky smooth black fruit, leather mint, and lavender on the palate. This reminded that I should not forget about drinking more malbecs. James Suckling rated this 93pts...while I think that is a bit high, it is very good and definitely recommend! — 5 years ago

May 16, 2019 in Tucson w/ Karen. Her wine for “a special occasion”. The occasion was special because of this wine. Wow. Just an awesome Bolgheri. — 6 years ago
Nicely balanced....16% notwithstanding. Very enjoyable for a blowy fall evening. — 7 years ago
Shafer TD-9 2015. This is a blend of merlot, cabernet, and malbec (56/28/16) and I love it! This is big and jammy like a good merlot should be. The color is moderately dark. The bouquet is blueberry preserves. The initial palate is black currant and blackberries ripe off the vine. The mid palate is oaky slowly opening into a vanilla and buttery dry finish. Just delicious!!!! A bit pricy at 65 dollars a bottle, but Ill buy it again hands down. This is a fantastic bottle of wine. If I could afford it Id buy a case. — 8 years ago

Lot 12 Solex UW, disg 18 Feb 16. A stunning btl of champagne. Notes from 3 hrs open. Cranberry and cinnamon, then soft reductive notes, lemon peel, spices...on the palate: fantastic acidity, which is brighter than the nose suggests, then some lovely mineral notes with more cranberry and cinnamon. A fantastic BdN. — 4 years ago
