Really good with pasta! Definitely would recommend and buy again. — 5 months ago
Very good Rosso di Montalcino! Especially with hard cheese and Italian bread! Would also be great with pasta, grilled meats, etc al. Just okay as a sipping wine but comes alive with food!Cherries, brambley fruits, low tannins, good qpr especially as compared to Brunello! — 6 months ago
Good grocery store wine. Good enough to buy again especially on sale. The wine was rich, full bodied, fruity but not overly so and mild tannins. I would buy it again. — 9 months ago
Probably not technically as good as it tastes. This is a big, rich, flavorful wine with lots of dark fruit and high in alcohol at 15% which is most noticeable upon opening so let it breathe. I like to just sip it but also enhances food especially roasted red meats and strong cheeses with crusty bread. Wine snobs will undoubtedly be critical but so what! It’s just a good solid inexpensive wine that tastes good. Enjoy! — 4 months ago
Not up there with German or Alstian Rieslings for sure but I like it! Both the nose and the tongue taste have the classic petroleum smell and taste that is prevalent in some but not all Rieslings. Alcohol is a bit high at 12% but for BOGO supermarket wine, it’s enjoyable. It paired well with pork and kraut but I was more prone to just sip it without any food. Definitely better than the same vintner’s Pinot Gris. — 5 months ago
Not totally bad but I think it had not been stored properly. Not really a good wine to evaluate based on this bottle. — 8 months ago
I really like this wine! The addition of Petite Syrah really gives it depth and fruit as well as rounding out the tannins. For a supermarket wine that’s frequently a BOGO you can’t go wrong imho. Pairs well with roasted meat, hard cheese or just to sip and savor. I don’t do all the meaningless descriptions of tobacco, blackberries, brambly, etc. but as I said, I like it! — 5 months ago
It’s okay but not on the same level as really good Pinot Gris. Just doesn’t have the same depth and texture as most PG’s I have drank. — 5 months ago
Absolutely perfect pairing with a nice filet of beef and crab cake. The nose gets your attention first of course and while it needs a bit of time out of the bottle, it’s totally worth it. Properly decanted and served at around 64-65 degrees, this is definitely worth seeking out again. — 7 months ago
