It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Strong nose of blackberries, black plums, cooked cherries, cedar, licorice, vanilla, spices, light earth, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco, dried meats and herbs.

Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, herbs, spices, earth, light vegetables, tobacco leaf and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Big, yet elegant. Fruit forward and spicy.

Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Tangy and interesting.

This 5 year old will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours of airtime.

A tiny production of only 600 bottle.

Good by itself and with food. Paired wonderfully with meats and cheeses.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$160.

Sipping Fine Wine

Deep Ruby, developing aromas of ripe red/black berry fruits, notes of oak, cacao/vanilla spice with slight floral, aged for 26 months in 100% new French oak. On the palate layered flavors of blackberry, black cherry & fig with black pepper, cinnamon & chalkiness. Very fine soft tannins, good structure, balanced well with acidity, long finish, ready to Sip now, ending with a great mouthfeel and sweet spicy fruit character. Decant for an hour to bring out depth, will age well, Very Nice! Tasting Sample!

One of the best mountain cab in Napa Valley. When you’re a wine snob that is rarely to be swept off your feet, this new cab will.

Time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a big boy from Napa Valley.

Pretty color of dark ruby/ Inky with a short reddish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, black plums, licorice, cedar, vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, green olives, coffee, earth, vegetables, light bell pepper, black pepper and spices.

Full-bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, black currants, coffee, oak, cloves, earth, vegetables, graphite, spices, olives, bitter herbs, chocolates, bell pepper, licorice, tobacco, pencil lead, peppercorn and dark coffee.

Medium plus on the finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Napa Cabernet from Spring Mountain. Still young and needs 5 to 10 years in the bottle to mature.

Showing lots of earth and vegetable notes at this point. Nicely balanced with nice complexity and a nice mouthfeel.

Needs a long time to open up. I gave it 3 hours and I'm sure it's not enough, as the tannins just showed up.

This Single Vineyard feels like a young Left Bank Bordeaux. This three-year-old has a good potential to become a 95 point star. Already tasty and delicious.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with meats and cheeses.

Grapes are grown at 1,800 feet elevation. Aged for 26 months in French Oak barrels (100% new). A very small production of only 600 bottles, numbered. This is bottle number 560.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Great recommendation by a friend of mine. Love every drop of it, paired perfectly well with Wagyu. Built to age!

Definitely stands out in this range, the spring mountain profile is unmistakable. Beautiful finish with a luxurious mouth-feel. It’s a young cab and I would cellar this 2017 Yan for 5-10 years
