Not into Malbec, but this hits you like a bolt of lightning. Massive presentation.
Typical raucous Caymus juice. Crowd-pleasing sweetness. Smooth, polished and lithe. Way too rich to drink the whole bottle, but good for a few glasses. If you like understated wines, give this a wide berth.

Red Schooner is a “Red Wine of the World”, an experiment of more than 5 years in the making, started Winter of 09/10. No vintage date – each vintage known by the voyage from which it was produced. This 3rd bottling is made from Mendoza Malbec grapes shipped chilled to Napa Valley and produced by Caymus. Dark red with dark fruit aromas and spice. Cherry & plum with cacao and pepper spice, good balance with rich tannins, a powerhouse lingering with mineral tones on the finish. Nice! Tasting Sample.

Not quite your traditional Malbec, but for the $24 ticket price, a very nice voyage indeed

Soft cherries up front with a long tannin finish. The second sip softens the cherries and add a leather on the finish.
