Maximin Grünhauser Abtsberg Spätlese Riesling

The frame of a great wine tempered by poor storage and half bottle variability.

I think it's safe to say Grünhaus makes idiosyncratic wines. So fine, so light, so damn drinkable. This 10' Abtsberg Spat took no time at all to finish. Nose of peaches, rockmelons, honey, petrol, chamomile. The wine dances on the palate. So precise, not a hint of sweetness in the finish, pure crystalline fruit, super saline core. Herbs and tea notes add to the intrigue. But I just got to highlight how drinkable this was - a great success in my books.
NB: Last time I has this same wine was about year ago. Notes seem to indicate that it hasn't moved much. Long life ahead!
