More massive minerals on the epic nose. Pulverized slate dust. So complex. Apricot. Peach. So vivid. Some vulcanized rubber. Deeply penetrative nose. Herbal and salty. Rich, racy, creamy and very complex. Juicy and elegant. Serene. Yet suberb mineral structure and awesome purity. Almost tannic on the finish. Amazing breadth and depth. Finish is forever. What a wine! Citrus now on the nose. Tangerine juice. Pink grapefruit. Power, elegance and insane concentration. Wow. Superb depth. Endless depth. Special. — 16 days ago
Really good character! A delicious surprise in the mouth. Serve with a substantial appetizer and friends who are wine adventurous. — 18 days ago
Hugely mineral nose. So much slate. Some lovely pure apricots as well. Gorgeous clarity and freshness. Killer. A mineral blizzard. So refined. Herbs as well. Just so clean and so Mosel. Palate is so elegant and a hint of creaminess and lovely saline, and elegant finish. This is pure class in a glass. Outrageous complexity. What length. The finish is insanely mineral with lingering flavors of apricot and peach. Super juicy and so clear. Saline. Awesome acid and mineral backbone. Still has more to say. Wow. I’ll be back. Such crunchy minerality. Sappy and so pure. Amazing length.
overnight this went from 9.5 to 9.7. stunning minerality and concentration. so so dry. a genius wine. — 16 days ago
Second take on this one, different vintage.
The lemon peel, yuzu, petrol, white flower nose is intoxicating. The palate is extremely long and acid driven. That makes for a very vivid mouthfeel, almost electric, but there is some matter and width around it. The rear expands somehow into a very long and broad finish with yuzu and lemony notes. This is really good again. Probably my favourite trocken riesling to this day. — 3 days ago
Meets expectations of a great Riesling with classic petroleum notes and amazingly balanced and refreshing acidity, and then exceeds them with an elegant sophisticated aftertaste and evolution on the palate. — 11 days ago

DAY1
Served with the Vinloq system
👃Apples, apricots, peach, grapefruit and slate
👅Peach, apple, and florals. Juicy but creamy. Full midpalate so typical of 2019 German rieslings. The sweet end of spatlese. Delicious
Slow Decanted the remaining wine in my fridge
DAY14
👃Apple, pear, peach but now oyster shell and briny, smoky musk. Jasmine tea
👅Light sweet nectar on the tongue with floral tea. Good acidity. The finish is dry and persistent. Enough salt to keep me thirsty
Elegant and light-footed but never thin. Drinking great. This will age well as expected of wines made from this historic vineyard. (There have been grapes grown in the Abtsberg vineyard for over 1,000 years)

Strong petrol nose, on the palate punchy quite acidic but the taste stays on the tong long time. Specific to grosse lage. Quite too young but nice wine with great aging potential — 14 hours ago
