Clos des Chênes Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Some dark Brambly Volnay fruit. Still very much alive. Iron and saline. Lots of power!

Amazing. Excellent. The 1999 opened on New Year's eve 2019.

Lovely aroma of what I like to call violets and perhaps geraniums. Smooth, well balanced. Good color. Good acidity. Cherries, mushrooms, dash or hint of orange peel, bacon and something like fish.

Incredible wine.
