Very good, elegant and transparent with nuanced aromas of red cherries, wild strawberries, tomato juice, dried herbs, roses and tar.
Fresh bite with a nice tannic grip, confirming lenght on the palate with a good interplay of fruit intensity on a savoury canvas.
A bit shy at first, give it at least an hour in the decanter and you’ll be luckily rewarded.

2017 vintage.
Sweet floral notes perfumed with bright red fruit and licorice.
This is Nebbiolo with mint, earthy cherries and grippy tannins.
The grapes come mostly from vineyards in Barolo and the last couple of vintages from Barbaresco too.
Luca Vietti would come to Vancouver years ago for tastings and to handshake buyers.
I asked Luca….”Why do you make Perbacco?”
His response…..”I want people to enjoy Barolo wines and not pay Barolo prices.”
The man is a Saint.

Delightful nose of cherry, raspberry, strawberry complemented by tobacco, touch of balsamic and hint of truffle. The fruits feel lightly candied on the juicy palate. Medium body, and the tannins command attention.

If the Castiglione bottling is the king, this would be the queen: lively, graceful, yet authoritative.

Bright ruby, light in body, roses and pure cherry fruit, touch of blood orange, anise seed. long dusty tannins. Extremely good value and I love the story behind the name.

Have had before but a deeper appreciation for the grape and region now. Tart, candied, and dried cherries, intense rose pedal pushing towards tar aroma, silky mouthfeel cutting in and out with gripping tannins without them being overwhelming though. If you’re going to drink Nebbiolo but not barbaresco or barolo this is an excellent place to be
