2001 Turley Dogtown. Nose of black pepper wafts followed by plums and a patient zin alcohol. Plum red with orangish edges due to age on the color. Plums, cherries, and berries coat the tongue followed by red pepper flakes, tannins, orange peel, and spice. A lighter side full bodied wine with a blackberry juice weight. The finish slides across the palate with tartness coating the teeth and dancing alcohol on the finish. It’s a delicate 19 year old zinfandel with some kick. Well done. Solid 92-93. (1-9-2020)
