1997 was too old. Probably not been stored properly. Wine was becoming more a vinegar than a wine

Last bottle of six. Still has a very dark color and shows none of the orange brick colour you expect from a 20 year old wine. Very smooth but the fruit notes are all but gone and while the tannins are soft, they're all that you notice. Its best days are behind it.
