From the exceptional 2011 growing season, this is about as good as a "filtered" LBV can get. An incredible value at $20, this is a great peak into the more expensive world of true "Vintage Port".
A complex melange of blackberry, red currants and blueberry fruits, licorice, a dusty cracked stone-like minerality, sweet baking spices, and a shade of dried sage. The harmony, depth, balance and massively long flavors end with a pop of acid and firm, long, finely structured tannins.

I know that LBV is just an illuminati plot to undermine the proletariat, but this one smells like a wet red rose in June growing amidst honeysuckle. It is seductive, sporting veinous, ripe cantaloupe and red hots. Tar and black cherry reduction with gum Arabic, red beer, grenadine and blackberry. Light on the pepper, but cuts through Stilton like propaganda through the will of the masses. Complex, well structured and opened up dramatically with air. All features that I don't always find in LBV. Classic vintage on a budget.

Can't really go wrong with any 2011 port and this is no exception. March 2021 and this is drinking beautifully. No rush to drink.

The changing flavor makes this an excellent after dinner choice. Sweet at first and then trends to a raisin or currant flavor.

JL Fladgate tasting 10/20/16. Good dark fruit and a bit of alcohol on nose. Very balanced palate with hints of chocolate and complex medium finish. Good value at $18.7.
